Players and Coaches Hate Losing in the BIG3

Going into covering my first BIG3 Tournament game, I thought it would be a bunch of former NBA players joking around with their buddies. Kind of like the NBA’s Summer League for young players, but without the pressure of careers being on the line.

While that was the case, what caught my attention was just how much these players wanted to win.

Nate Robinson got tossed for picking up two technicals for arguing with the ref and Metta World Peace got tossed for kicking a basketball into the stands.

It became clear in a hurry that winning was important and losing was something these players and coaches still hated.

After the games, it was fun hearing players and coaches explain why winning matters in the BIG3 Tournament.
